Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County was founded in 1990 by Thomas VanOrden, Jesse Fisher, May and Mel Rutherford, Bud Rue, Peg and Dale Rosenburg, William Mamber, Dorothy Samson, and John Buckley.  The non-profit organization celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015.

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Our mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
