Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County was founded in 1990 by Thomas VanOrden, Jesse Fisher, May and Mel Rutherford, Bud Rue, Peg and Dale Rosenburg, William Mamber, Dorothy Samson, and John Buckley. The non-profit organization celebrated its 33rd anniversary in 2023.
